Rubik’s Connected 3x3 Smart Cube
The Rubik’s Connected 3x3 smart cube: the iconic puzzle with live move tracking and app lessons.
What makes a cube smart
A GoCube smart cube looks like the iconic puzzle your parents could never finish, and for the first thirty seconds it behaves like one. Then you open the free app, the cube connects over Bluetooth, and a mirror of the puzzle appears on the screen turning exactly as you turn. That mirror is the whole idea. The cube knows which face moved, how far it travelled and how long you hesitated before you committed to the move, and it hands all of that information back to you as something you can act on.
Which cube for which hands
We build the range around three levels of play. The 2x2 is the gentle door in: fewer pieces, shorter solves, the same interactive guide reading over your shoulder. The Edge 3x3 is the full experience, with precision tracking, speed analytics and competitive modes for people who already own a timer. Between them sits the Rubik’s Connected cube, the officially licensed version of the classic, made smart and connected without changing the shape anybody recognises.
The guide that gets you to a first solve
What all three share is the learning path. The app walks a complete beginner through a first solve in small, forgiving steps, then quietly starts showing the moves that cost you time. Practice drills target one specific case at a time. The timer runs itself, so your hands never leave the puzzle. A leaderboard lets you compete with friends or with strangers who are exactly as fast as you are, and the battle modes turn a solve into a race rather than a chore.
Living with it after the first week
Pick by how much cube you want in your hands. Small hands and short attention spans do better on the 2x2. Anyone chasing a personal best wants the Edge, where the magnets, the tensioned core and the analysis of every move support real improvement rather than just recording it. Both are fun on the first night; both are still interesting a year later, because the app keeps finding something new to measure.
